Your no claims bonus is calculated on the amount of years you have been driving with an insurance policy. Generally the highest NCB rating is 60% (which is with 5 years driving experience). The rating works on a scale of 1 to 5, and is the discount you will receive on your insurance premium.

1year = 20%

2years = 30%

3years = 40%

4years = 50%

5years = 60%

If you are a new driver, your premium will be a little high. If you have relative or guardian who has a 60% NCB, some insurance companies may allow you be on their insurance premium, this may reduce your first insurance premium amount.
